RARE FIND

Vintage Turkmen Ceremonial Chapan (Chyrpy). Heavily adorned with metal jewels and glass beads. Dated 1950s – 1960s.

Jewellery is a silver alloy, mixed with brass and silver plated nickel. All vintage.

The fabric is wool and silk with plant dye.

It is in very good condition and rather spectacular. There is one break in the string which holds the beads at the front – please see photographs. It is an easy repair, but I shall pin it in place for now.

It is heavy over 1kg.
